Hello and welcome to my site! I am a saxophonist, composer, and teacher.
In the 1980s and 90s, I studied saxophone (classical and jazz) at the conservatories of Utrecht and Hilversum in the Netherlands.
I have collaborated with a wide range of artists, theater companies, and orchestras, performing with groups such as Orchestra de Volharding, Ensemble Klang, the Dutch Jazz Orchestra, and the Charli Green Big Band and contributed to theater productions in the Netherlands and Belgium and performed alongside artists like Stef Bos and Harry Sacksioni.
Parallel to my career as a performing artist, I conducted various big bands and ensembles and worked as a saxophone teacher.
In 2015, I moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina. However, I've remained active in the Dutch music scene, playing with the Koh-I-Noor Saxophone Quartet (which has been around since 1985!) and film orchestra The Sprockets.
In Argentina, I formed a jazz quartet, releasing the album "Entonces que?" in 2016, and founded the Roseti Project. I regularly collaborate with local musicians such as Alvaro Torres and Ernesto Snajer, and I perform with ensembles like the Sophie Lüssi Quintet and occasionally with the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra.
I teach in the jazz department of EMPA (Escuela de Música Popular de Avellaneda) and at the Conservatorio Superior de Música Manuel de Falla.
In addition to playing and teaching, I compose. I have written works for various ensembles, including the Sirius Saxophone Quartet and the Reed Quintet Torre 7.
I have also composed scores for several silent movies, including Charlie Chaplin’s "The Cure" (1917), Friedrich Murnau’s "Tabu" (1931), and a Criterion-released documentary on the 1928 Olympic Winter Games.
Recent scores include music for "Moral" (1928), which premiered at the Ellen Richter Retrospective in Berlin, and "Saxophon Susy" (1928), which debuted at the UFA Film Nights 2024.
Currently, I largely focus on writing, recording, and releasing my own music, which blends acoustic and electronic elements and floats between jazz, fusion and rock.
